The final phase of the kitchen remodel (finishing the ceiling) ...this one was very messy!

Considering Rick is such a health nut, he does a lot of baking with the kids.

The bad part about having a pet snake......they think all snakes should be picked up. All three came running to the door yelling "snake, a snake". Drew had this thing in his HANDS and was bringing it to me. I can't believe he caught it and I'm sure the snake is still in therapy after being caught by the three of them. I'm trying to make them understand that when you see a snake, you don't touch it, you come and get mom or dad. I think it is a Northern Red-Belly- hopefully, it headed North!

Drew puts Kevin bird to sleep...so cute!

Drew is so creative and funny. He turned
their riding scooter around and made it be his "tiller" so he could imitate dad. Before they went up there Rick said "watch this...if I take my shirt off he will too". Sure enough, not 5 seconds later, Drew was taking his shirt off so he could be just like dad.

***************

My sisters and I participated in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in Charlotte, NC. We walked 39 miles over 2 days and raised over $6k between the 3 of us. We each had to raise at least $1,800 to even be allowed to walk. Our picture in the mirror before we headed out early that first morning.

Amy had to drop out after about 17 miles. She got this weird pain in her hip/leg and she was really struggling and walking really slow with a limp. We convinced her to get in a "sweeper bus" so that she did not do any permanent damage. After the first day, my parents picked us up and we drove about 10 minutes to go have dinner. Meg and I were fine when we got in the car, but when we tried to stand up after being still for just 10 minutes, our whole bodies had locked up. We were hunched over and hurting....quite the site I'm sure. When we got back to the hotel, the lobby was full of a bunch of people walking just like us- like they were in pain. I thought there was no way we would be able to walk the 2
nd day, but we felt pretty good the next morning after getting some sleep and rest.

Meg and Amy did not know that a lot of people "dress up", so I surprised them with our cat ears and pink boas. Our team name was "Live, Laugh, Love", but people along the route decided we were "Kitties for Titties".....I guess that works too ;)

Our mom is a breast cancer survivor, so she was our inspiration!
The girls with our mom. My parents drove down to Charlotte and cheered us on along the route. My mom is as tough as they come!
We are walking again this September, so please feel free to click on the link below and donate. I would REALLY appreciate it.
