In September we took DJZ to the fair again......I think I've had my fill for a while and we can skip next year .

Drew on the swings. We were all able to ride this one.

We now have a pet SNAKE! This baby snake was found INSIDE Rick's work building in Rita's office. Rick decided we needed a pet snake and we named her Rita in honor of Rita "finding" her. Rita (the person) is quite traumatized by the whole thing.....can't say I blame her. I would not like to be surprised by a snake, especially indoors at work! We are pretty sure it is a corn snake.

We also took the kids on their first camping trip. We met Rick's mom and Eugene in NC at a campground. The kids did great and slept well.

We made GIANT smores

Roasting marshmallows around the campfire

Eating hot dogs and baked beans for dinner . Nana and Eugene were in charge of food and really know how to eat while camping. They had a camp stove and microwave/toaster oven, so we had all sorts of warm food.

After camping for 1 night, I headed to Tony and Tina's house for a baby shower and Rick headed to Clemson with DJZ for their 1st Clemson game.

My neighbors husband surprises her every couple of years with a scavenger hunt. He invites several of her friends and they all just show up at her house.... much to her surprise and the attendees. All of our husbands were in on the act too, so they made sure each of us were home that morning to receive our first clue. Someone knocked on my door around 10 am and handed me a note saying to be at Trisha's house in 30 minutes. This year the theme was "Voliday". We received a new clue at every stop we made telling us where we needed to go next. We started out going to lunch, then to a Tennessee Alumni store (we were told that several of us might need something Vol orange to wear), then rock wall climbing, then Starbucks, and finally we ended up going to tailgate with the Vol Navy on a house boat. Our husbands also showed up on the boat with a red rose for each of us. Rick and I attended our very first UT game (UT played the Oregon Ducks). It was lots of fun......even with the SEVERE thunderstorm that hit mid game and sent the whole stadium running for cover.

My mom's side of the family had a reunion at my grandmothers church. It was really nice to see everyone. That is Mama and her brother, Jerry, sitting up front.

Meggie took the hoodlums for a ride on Mama's golf cart

Meg saw a kitten run under my grandmothers car port and sat there enticing it with food for quite some time till she caught it. This lucky cat now lives at Meg's house in a life of luxury :) Jenni the cat with Jenny the person!

That is ONE tomato bush from Rick's garden. It produced lots and lots of tomatoes!

Super trio!
